Read Galatians 5:13-18.
How
do we “walk in the Spirit?” We do so by allowing our lives to be under the
direction of the Holy Spirit. We don’t focus on the host of other noises that
come into our lives from a wide variety of sources – some good, some not so
good. We do so by constantly asking ourselves “What is God calling me to do?” That
requires us to live honestly with ourselves. We have to know it is God and not
an allegiance to something else. Today is a good day to check your walk.
God calls us in so many places to be led by the Spirit and to put others before ourselves. When we love others first, we naturally make better choices about self-indulgence and about focusing on what is really important.
ReplyDeleteIn these times when we are alone and isolated, and our routines are disrupted, God can keep us from becoming weak and "using our weakness to indulge the flesh".
Lord, help me to think of things I can do even now to serve others and to serve You. Keep my focus on the things that matter.
