Read Proverbs 3:5-6.
Some of the greatest wisdom is found in these
verses. And some of the greatest understanding comes out of reflecting
upon the question: How am I to trust God in the midst of uncertainty? How
am I to completely and fully depend, not upon myself, but on the provision,
the peace, and the protection of God?
How might you acknowledge God today so that the
path of God might be clear for you in the days ahead?
I think the best way for me to acknowledge God today is to pause and pray whenever I feel an anxious thought slip into my head, to continually put my trust in Him with all my heart. I can also take time to reflect on all of the positive things during this season, acknowledging how He is always working in my life.
ReplyDeleteI think God is trying to remind me - and us - that we need to stop trying to do it all out of our own strength. We need to trust in Him, not in ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI also feel like He is trying to tell me that "comfort" is not His highest truth for me. We are called to have peace in the midst of the storm, peace in spite of circumstances. He's not going to remove all the hard stuff because then I get complacent and I forget who's in charge.
In these times when the most tempting thing to do is "cocoon"...I need to remember to ask Him what He wants me to do today.
We often hear the phrase just "Trust in God," but this passage follows "with your whole heart." I also can't depend on my own understanding. It takes trusting God to a much deeper level.
