Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-31.
Now more than ever the Church - the Body of Christ - is called to let its light shine. We are living in uncertain times. We are experiencing and living through what many of us have never seen before. How do you think the Church can heed Paul’s call to view every member of the Body of Christ in the season in which we’re living? What does it look like for every member of Christ’s Church to do their part and to be the Church? Remember: the Church is not a building; it’s the people.

So, how might you be the Church today?

  1. I'm sharing this with my kids tonight. We are four adults and one teenager with very different personalities, cooped up in a house trying to get along and ride this out.

We are all called to different things, but we need to appreciate each other's differences instead of having them be a source of conflict.

And most of all we need to appreciate that we are safe, and healthy, and not in need - there are so many out there who cannot say the same.

Joshua 1:1-9 How wonderful is the presence of God? Because of it, I do not need to be afraid or discouraged; rather I can be strong and have courage. Why? Because God is with me. In my walk with Christ, I need to remember that I am walking WITH Christ. He is there with me always. Sometimes, in my weakest moments, I lose sight of Him and I see all those other things that tug at me and tempt me. So today I rejoice in knowing that wherever I go today – whatever this day holds – my God goes with me.

Read James 1:2-15. One of the greatest challenges I face is seeing the trials that I face as assets. It is through those trials – difficult and distressing as they may be – that my faith becomes stronger. In them I learn to trust in God’s providence and His promises. So today, instead of grumbling or bemoaning, I want to ask:   “God, what can I learn today? How can I grow?”

Read John 20:1-18. HE IS RISEN! We have waited seven weeks to say that! HE IS RISEN INDEED. ALLELUIA! So here we are, at the end of The Journey. Here we are at the mouth of an empty tomb. Because of today we are free from sin, we are victorious over death, and the devil must run from our presence. He no longer has power over us. The Journey has taken us through several destinations, and with the reality of the coronavirus, through a couple of detours! But the goal has been achieved. By following Jesus we are a transformed people, a people whose faith has grown and who have experienced the joy and struggle of a life with Christ.   What have you learned on The Journey ? As you come to the empty tomb, what impact has The Journey had on your life?
