Read John 20:19-29.
After Jesus is raised from the dead, He appears to
His fear-filled disciples. They were afraid. They were scared. And they
didn’t know what to do without their Lord with them any longer. Sounds
like something very similar to what you and I are experiencing today:
fear, panic, and ever despair. For many of us, anxiety has set into our hearts
and, like the disciples, Jesus speaks a word of peace, for He says three
different times, “Peace
be with you” (vs. 19b, 21, 26b).
In times such as these, receiving God’s
peace is comforting. How is Jesus breathing His peace in
your life today?
Lord I do struggle with doubt at times, especially times like these, help me keep my trust and faith. I read this prayer today and enjoyed its message, another reminder that you have the power, if we would just believe and trust in you.
ReplyDeleteA Prayer for Our Leaders
Dear God, Would You give our leaders wisdom, discernment, and strength. Keep them healthy, safe, and rested so that they can guide us through this time.
Give our government leaders wisdom on how to stop the virus and stabilize our economy.
Give our spiritual leaders Your discernment on how to meet people's needs as they glorify Your name and encourage the Church.
Give our medical leaders insight into how to stop the virus.
Strengthen their resolve and honor their hard work in creating a treatment for COVID-19.
Give our civic leaders inspiration, courage, joy, and strength to meet the needs of their communities.
And help us, as leaders in our communities, to display courage, hope, generosity, and kindness.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

I've been struggling with some physical pain lately and have been doing yoga with my daughter to help with it.
ReplyDeleteWhen the videos say "center yourself and focus on your mantra" or whatever, the phrase that keeps jumping to my mind is Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God.
It is so hard to be still in days like these. It is a good reminder.
